ABOUT TOMMIE CHAVEZ
Throughout my career, I have consistently demonstrated adaptability and a strong aptitude for learning new technologies and concepts. Once I find something intriguing I do a deep dive in the topic and that is how I got into the Cloud space. Little by little I allowed my curiosity to get the best of me and I gradually learned more about AWS and its resources. This is how I was able to pivot into tech from my chemical engineering background to now being a cloud engineer.In terms of technical qualifications, I have experience in designing, implementing, and operating highly available and scalable infrastructure utilizing Terraform for AWS resources specifically EKS. As well, I have experience in monitoring, observability, and cost optimization by leveraging tools like Cloudwatch, SNS, Datadog, and Trusted Advisor.My passion to continuously learn has allowed me to stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices. I actively pursue professional development opportunities, engage in local tech events, and connect with those who have expertise in the field.Outside of my work, I enjoy hiking in the wilderness and drone photography. I also love cooking and learning the cultural aspects of food. You can usually find me in the kitchen making something before I devour it entirely.
