ABOUT TOM MCGARR
I am a resilient, reliable, professional and enthusiastic individual with a ‘can do’ attitude. Academically, I have always been a very determined and studious individual leading me to a university degree. Sportingly I have achieved the greatest honour, gaining a full International cap for the Ireland rugby league team in 2012. I have also been fortunate enough to travel across the world since graduating from university, and managed to play rugby in Australia and New Zealand during my 2 years away from the UK. Since returning to the UK I fell into recruitment with one of the biggest companies worldwide, Reed. However, my plan was always to come back and finish my studies to become a qualified PE teacher. Since starting as a cover supervisor at Epping St Johns in 2015, my career has gone from strength to strength, gaining a full time position and becoming director of rugby at the school. I have taken on many different roles in my life time, but I am an extremely loyal and hard working individual, who is excited by the privileged opportunity to teach young adults develop within Education and life it self.
