Design and oversee grassroots organizing campaigns like “Healthcare Bingo” and “Fayetteville Health and Wellness Fair” to bring education and resources to underserved communities. Build a stronger voter base and community network by training driven volunteers to be community leaders. Created a number of multi-faceted email + social media + in-person campaigns to highlight both positive initiatives (like the recent medicaid expansion) and legislation that could harm voters (like a bill raised to funnel money from behavioral health to various pet projects.) Coordinated a call between NC seniors from across the state and HCAN to discuss the effect new nursing-home legislation would have. Submitted stories from that call to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) during the public comment period. Addressed the large backlog of unprocessed paperwork in several local offices by working with developers to create an automated program to scan, clean, and store the data in Excel.
