About Tomicah Tillemann
Dr. Tomicah Tillemann is the President of Project Liberty and Project Liberty Institute. His work focuses on developing solutions that enable human agency and human flourishing in an AI-powered world. Prior to joining Project Liberty, he was a partner and Global Head of Policy at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and Chief Policy Officer at Haun Ventures, where he built policy architecture to support the next generation of the internet.Tomicah served as Senior Advisor to two Secretaries of State, directing teams of experts that built 20 major initiatives in 55 countries. He joined the State Department as Hillary Clinton\'s speechwriter and collaborated with her on over 200 speeches. Previously, he spent four years on the professional staff of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, working with Joe Biden, Tony Blinken, Barack Obama, and John Kerry.Tomicah served as Executive Director of the Digital Impact and Governance Initiative at New America, where he built and oversaw programs on responsible asset allocation, decentralized technology, and digital public infrastructure.Tomicah is a co-holder of four patents. He is a past Chairman of the Global Blockchain Business Council and has served as a member of the World Economic Forum\'s Council for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the UN World Food Program\'s Innovation Advisory Council. He currently serves on the boards of Diginex (NASDAQ: DGNX) and the Lantos Foundation. He received his B.A. magna cum laude from Yale University and holds a Ph.D. with distinction from the School for Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University. He is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
