Job Duties includes third party vendors and design engineers, Technology organizations (network/hardware engineering and security), and product/project management groups. The role is to provide technical design; engineering and ongoing operational support for all structured cabling and physical infrastructure requirements such as optimal hardware placement and environmental needs in technology rooms (server rooms, MDF, and IDF rooms). Position also includes the support and coordination of backbone/riser and lateral distribution system design, wireless technology, and security design components.This position will play an important role in project design, implementation and commissioning of physical IT and connectivity infrastructure. Areas of responsibility include estimating and scope development, design and bid document review, development and administration of RFPs, bid analysis, field surveys, validation of as-built drawings and participation in project close-out support. Participate in project-related programming interview and discovery process with business groups, technology, security and other design team members as needed *Work with technology and security partners to identify, interpret and communicate structure cabling and hardware requirements to internal/external partners and stakeholders *Develop project requirement outlines and cost estimates related to structured cabling and hardware installation requirements *Maintain compliance with common industry standards and guidelines to ensure high reliability *Interface with General Contractor, MEP Engineering and Architectural firms as needed to ensure structured cabling and hardware environmental requirements are clearly understood *Participate in the infrastructure acceptance process and ensure the appropriate close out documentation is completed to satisfy business and compliance requirements
