Under the direction of the Disaster Planning Unit manager, I perform work related to State of California disaster plans & preparedness for Statewide Emergency Management Operations, exercises and programs including a wide variety of tasks associated with the development and maintenance of State emergency plans & grant deliverables;Acted as a liaison between CalOES and city/county/private agencies, organizations, and group on all program matters; assisted in problem-solving, program implementation, and development of plans, policies, and guidance for emergency management systems and programs;Served as a program lead and assigned staff responsibilities in support of other technical or programmic functions as needed;Served as coordinator for the State plans and Essential Records Database, including population of database with State level emergency plans from different agencies and Operational Areas;Ensured the Continuity planning database is being utilized to monitor and track all changes and activity associated with internal and external continuity planning documents; work with IT to maintain operations of the database; and worked with other CalOES programs to ensure relevant material is captured and catalogued properly;Provided periodic presentations and/or briefings to management, CalOES leadership, and State of California department heads on the need for preparedness plans that meet both State and FEMA expectations;Provided technical assistance to other State agencies as well as City/County Emergency Services agencies on Catastrophic and Continuity preparedness plans and programs. Scheduled and tracked project deliverables as well as assisting in coordination of State-level exercises, drills, workshops, and meetings. Captured and reported stakeholder goals, successes, gaps and obstacles in a Year-End Executive Report on Continuity Planning. Taught Continuity courses to California emergency managers.
