As a CTO 5G Team member I contribute to standards development activities for Open RAN as part of SmartRAN Open Network Interoperability Centre (SONIC) Labs. SONIC Labs is a joint programme between Digital Catapult and Ofcom, funded by UK Government Department for Science, Innovation & Technology as part of its 5G Diversification Strategy, to foster emergence of new solution providers in the telecom supply chain in the UK• Leading SONIC Labs Technical Studies for UK Government Department of Science, Innovation and Technology and Ofcom on security (O-RAN Alliance WG11), next generation research (O-RAN Alliance nGRG) and AI/ML• Key standards authority for alignment between O-RAN Alliance specifications and SONIC Labs activities• Technical lead of global collaborations with other O-RAN test labs developing technical contributions to Telecom Infra Project• Leading development of innovative deep tech R&D and commercial project proposals in international consortia focusing on 5G/6G, open networks, AI/ML and post-quantum cryptography, IoT, government, energy and defence sectors
