The SearchPilot platform was a project that I ideated in my role as Head of R&D at Distilled. It has since grown into a mature and battle tested platform, and spun out into an independent SaaS business. My role as VP Product is focused on taking the platform to the next level, by having and enacting a vision for how it can grow over the next few years. This covers everything from top level functionality, user experience, through to the statistical analysis engine and network infrastructure. This requires a strong understanding of the market and the needs of our customers, as well as the available technologies that we can leverage to build the platform. On any given day I may be ideating and building our tests with our consulting team, working with the engineering team to on our AWS based infrastructure, or co-ordinating a deployment with a client. In addition, I play an ambassador role travelling to conferences to talk about SEO split-testing, or other aspects of the SEO research that our team do.
