ABOUT TOM WRIGHT

I am Service Owner for the Be Part of Research and Join Dementia Research digital services and manage the team who deliver them. We work in partnership with the DHSC and NHS England to maximise opportunities for people to participate in health and care research across the UK and enable researchers to find the right participants for their clinical trials and research projects. Be Part of Research has over 600k volunteers signed up to its registry, driven largely by promotion via the NHS app. It passed its GDS private beta assessment in Oct 2024 and is now officially in public beta.During my time at the University of Lincoln, I enhanced the student digital experience by working in partnership with users and using insights to identify pain points and drive improvements. I initiated and led the development of a new university app for students which acts as an essential one-stop shop and motivational tool to encourage positive behaviours with the ultimate goal of ensuring retention and maximising outcomes. A prototype MVP was launched in Feb 2024 followed by a successful wider launch to all students in summer 2024.At Lincoln, I also developed the Student Life initiative, which uses student-led digital content and channels to provide peer-to-peer support, advice and guidance to other students at Lincoln. My team also developed Learning at Lincoln, an online resource which uses a mixture of content created by students, academics and support services designed to facilitate academic transition for students from school to university and throughout their university career.
