ABOUT TOM WHITE

Energy efficiency professional with hands-on experience developing, financing, restoring and managing residential rental properties. I\'m interested in working with multi-family operations, property and asset managers to both benchmark their building characteristics and improve the performance of their residential portfolio. I like turning information into practical knowledge, leading to effective actions that will improve building performance, resiliency, energy savings and occupant health. Business and consumer publishing entrepreneur with 30+ years of start-up, management, marketing and editorial experience in energy, health, environment and green building sectors. I enjoy working with internal and external teams to develop and implement innovative, engaging and effective media that builds technical knowledge and strengthens communities of practice. The national and local organizations I\'ve worked with have used science-based educational media to influence behavior change and technical transfer for a range of critical issues: energy efficiency; energy affordability; greenhouse gas reduction; disease prevention; endangered species and natural resource conservation. I\'ve assisted a range of coalitions, trade associations and societies with business planning to build and retain their base of constituents. I\'ve worked most frequently with not-for-profits that need help starting or improving social enterprises that rely on earned-income. As a social entrepreneur, my goal has been to help these organizations improve their triple bottom line: for profit, people and planet.
