About Tom Swaim

I\'ve been in construction for close to 40 years and with Suffolk for 10. I\'ve been doing Aviation for over 25 years. I graduated from LAFAYETTE COLLEGE with a CIVIL ENGINEERING Degree. I spent close to 10 years in the field and then went into PRECONSTRUCTION. Because my early projects were in HEALTH CARE and LIFE SCIENCES, I taught myself how to design MEP Systems Efficiently and this has allowed me to provide better value during the conceptual and schematic stages of design. I also was exposed early on to DESIGN BUILD and have become a true PLANNER for the owner. The PRECONSTRUCTION efforts that I\'m involve in are collaborative and our goals my goals are simple. I try to understand what the owner really wants to do. I then try to understand what the design team intends to design. Next, I leave \"no stone unturned\" in an effort to give the owner the best dollar. Finally, I work with operations to make sure we give the owner his building early.
