I am an academic lawyer and legal consultant specialising in general public international law and environmental law. I have particular expertise in questions of climate change law, the procedure and law of international courts, and matters relating to statehood and self-determination.I am a Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg, where I focus on international legal theory, statehood, self-determination, international adjudication and international environmental law. A research monograph on \'Self-Determination in the International Legal System\' is forthcoming with Hart Publishing, and will be released in January 2023.From 2020-21 I served as Judicial Fellow of the International Court of Justice, in the team of H.E. Judge Peter Tomka.
