As an Audit Assistant at RSM in Bristol, my role involves supporting audit engagements by performing a variety of tasks such as examining financial records, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. ABOUT TOM SCOTT-DEMPSTER
I am a 4th Year undergraduate reading Environmental Sciences at the University of St Andrews. Previously, I studied at Merchiston Castle School, a leading independent school in Scotland, at which I played 1st team sport, and achieved A*, A, B at A level. Outside of University, I am not afraid to go outside my comfort zone, and I love a challenge. During lockdown I raised for Food4Heros by climbing the height of Mount Everest (8,850m) on my staircase in one day – I climbed up 46,452 steps. Previously, I cycled from Lands End to John O’Groats on a tandem with my father, raising for Breast Cancer Now. Recently, I signed up for the Mogol rally, driving a 1litre car 4,148 miles, whilst raising money for charity Cool Earth.I want to pursue a career in Energy and Finance, driven by my experiences as a member of the St Andrews Investment Society and my passion to drive our economy and world into a green revolution.My most recent chapter has been working as a Caddy for the second most profitable golf course in the world, Kingsbarns. This has developed my communication skills, by having the opportunity to speak to industry leaders face to face.
