About Tom Rushing
A gentleman, quantitative investment advisor and investor for over fifty years, Tom Rushing began a career in 1968 with Lehman Bros, advising ultrahigh net worth entrepreneurs and business owners and executives. Tom retired in 2018 from Merrill Lynch & Company as Managing Director after founding Tactical Associates, a private bank team advising over $4.5 billion in assets. Over his career, he received accolades from Financial Times, Barron\'s and Houston Business Journal. He spent his entire career in Houston where he supported local institutions such as Rice University (Adjunct Professor), University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center (Board of Visitors), Houston Grand Opera (Endowment Board Chair) and the City of West University Place (Mayor Pro Tem). He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, where he met his wife of 57 years. Tom\'s special skill is development and fundraising, having volunteered in that capacity for four schools (both private schools and universities) and various performing arts and healthcare institutions. He is also an investment advisory board member for nonprofit endowments and foundations. Tom is a past independent board member of various private and public companies.
