ABOUT TOM REYNOLDS
Director at Factor | Legal SME Derivatives & Trading Documentation | AI-Enabled Future | Financial Services Legal | ISDA IFLD 2023-24 CohortI am a qualified lawyer with significant post-qualification experience advising on trading and collateral documentation across the financial services sector. My practice combines deep subject matter expertise with a commitment to innovation, delivering complex legal solutions at scale while shaping the future of legal service delivery. At Factor, I lead a multi-jurisdictional team negotiating and advising on a wide range of trading agreements, including ISDA Master Agreements (with both English and New York law Credit Support Annexes), Initial Margin documentation, GMRAs, GMSLAs, MSFTAs and Account Control Agreements. I am trusted by global institutions to manage complex workflows, ensure risk-aligned outcomes, and tailor documentation to evolving commercial and regulatory requirements.Beyond delivery, I am an active contributor to the transformation of legal practice through AI. As a 2023/24 ISDA Future Leader in Derivatives (IFLD), I co-authored and was an editor of “GenAI in the Derivatives Market: a Future Perspective” and was invited to present these findings at the 2024 ISDA AGM in Tokyo. I have spoken on ISDA’s “The Swap” podcast and continue to play a central role in Factor’s internal and market leading legal AI initiatives (including co-developing a hybrid human led AI review model for complex agreements such as ISDA documentation).I also take pride in nurturing the next generation of legal professionals, having designed and sponsored Factor’s Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) initiative (which achieved a 100% SQE1 pass rate in its inaugural year). My focus is on combining legal rigour with innovation and collaboration, helping clients adapt, scale and succeed in an increasingly complex and interconnected market environment. Please connect if you are exploring how legal expertise and emerging technologies can unlock new value in financial services.
