I\'ve found that learning and growing creates the dynamic tension that fuels my life. From working on myself and with others I believe the discomfort of uncertainty makes a space where we can find and build ever better versions of ourselves.In my business and personal life I have never stopped stretching by learning to live with paradoxes, ambiguity and shifting paradigms. If I’m uncomfortable I know I’m growing. I’ve studied the science of business and the psychology of leadership. I make a home in my own country and another where the culture and language are not my own. An appetite for broad experiences and my diverse background enables me as a director and advisor to help others see and think about issues in new and different ways. I am proud to be Red River Métis and follow the path of my ancestors who were entrepreneurs that built a a nation on intercultural collaboration in the pursuit of prosperity and freedom.I spent 25 years in leadership roles with a company where our team had grown the business by 20x from a local private business to a national broad-based employee-owned B Corp overseen by best practices governance. I now continue my work as an entrepreneur and corporate director further developing my skills with academic studies and research. I\'ve studied and practiced principles of employee ownership and values-based governance to build competitive advantage with socially responsible strategies.In my Master\'s degree in Law and Society (LLM) program at the University of Victoria Law school I\'m researching the application of indigenous law to North American Business. There is much to learn from our Indigenous peoples as we form our paradigms of governing and leading responsible and sustainable organizations.In my spare time I work with my family to build our two homes with one on an island in the Pacific Northwest and the other in my life partner’s hometown of Riga, Latvia.The toughest job I’ve ever had is to be a good husband and father of five. I work on that every day.
