About Tom Ramsey

Ramsey brings with him an extensive background in the energy industry with a strong focus on crude oil, refined products, natural gas, natural gas liquids, sulfur and olefins. Prior to leading Element Fuels and Centurion Midstream Group as chief executive officer, Ramsey led the North American Crude Oil Marketing and Midstream business at Vitol, the largest private crude oil trader in the world. Previously he was chief operating officer of Energy for The Gavilon Group, LLC, a leading global agriculture and energy commodities marketing, midstream and trading firm. Ramsey was responsible for developing, planning and executing the company’s energy business strategy and initiatives. He was also accountable for the segment’s financial performance, business development, and leading all of the energy trading and marketing activities. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in a number of acquisitions and greenfield projects to build a portfolio of assets yielding better trading opportunities. At BP, he led Natural Gas Liquids Marketing and Trading, Olefins Marketing and Trading, and the Americas Crude Oil Marketing and Trading businesses. He also led financial and project groups both domestically and internationally. Prior to joining BP, Ramsey spent nine years in the financial services sector at ABN Amro and First Chicago Bank where he gained experience in financial and physical commodity trading.In 2011, the Creighton University Financial Management Association (FMA) awarded Ramsey Outstanding Financial Executive for his support and commitment to the Creighton University FMA chapter.He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received his Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
