ABOUT TOM OTOOLE
I work in refurbishment and retrofit, where projects are shaped as much by uncertainty and decision-making as by design. Live environments, legacy buildings, and incomplete information make delivery less straightforward than new build. That’s where experience tends to matter most.My focus is on managing risk, cost, and programme at the points where early decisions have a disproportionate impact on outcome. In my experience, projects rarely struggle because people don’t care. They struggle because uncertainty isn’t acknowledged early or dealt with properly.Alongside construction, I run businesses in other sectors. That wider context has reinforced a simple reality: standards only matter if they hold up under pressure, and small decisions compound quickly, for better or worse.I spend most of my time working with project managers, commercial teams, and stakeholders navigating complex refurbishment or retrofit projects who want pragmatic, experience-led conversations rather than theory. If you’re dealing with a live project, an early-stage decision, or a situation where certainty is limited, I’m always open to connecting.
