ABOUT TOM MINTERN

An experienced employment and immigration solicitor, with both private practice and in-house experience. I enjoy developing long-term business relationships and helping my clients to achieve their commercial goals. I advise international and domestic clients on the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious HR issues. As a dual employment and immigration specialist I am able to support companies and individuals throughout the full lifecycle of the employment relationship, from workforce mobility considerations through to employee disputes and exits. I regularly advise on contractual and policy documentation, restructuring projects, corporate acquisitions, disciplinary and grievances issues, severance negotiations, TUPE matters and international co-ordination projectsI act for a companies across all sectors, ranging from multinational corporates to start-up businesses. I also advise senior executives. On the immigration side, I regularly support clients on their mobility/talent relocation projects. This includes advising on sponsor license applications, working and business visit visa matters and risk and compliance. Although the majority of my practice is UK inbound, I also enjoy working with my international network to support clients with their global mobility plans, often through the use of tech solutions.Finally, I have extensive in-house experience, having undertaken a number of client secondments and consultant roles spanning a number of different sectors. This has given me invaluable insight into how outside counsel can best support their clients and the expectations of internal stakeholders when working as part of an in-house team.
