CA

Re-engineered the existing 15 year Corporate financial model for TransLink; this required a complete overhaul of both the design and processes involved to create the financial model; Financial projections for 78 Business Units summarized into 4 divisions - Bus, Skytrain, Seabus, and West Coast Express; includes all Capital Expenditures (Low Carbon Fleet) and Operating and Maintenance Expenses by Division - detailed Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statement – Actual (7 years), Budget (1 year), and Forecast (15 years), by Quarter - Sensitivity Analysis - Dynamic OFF/ON Project Selection - Dynamic Inflation and Service Plan drivers. The NEW TransLink financial model enabled TransLink to secure COVID-19 Relief funding of over $1.1 billion. Although there are many improvements in both process and ease of use, the most significant innovation is the ability to COMPARE any one of ten benchmark files produced over the past three years to each other (including a PRE COVID model) – the COMPARE file is fully automatic via VBA where one can select model “A” and COMPARE to model “B”. The COMPARE reports “A” and “B” and “A minus B” by line item for the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, Service Plan, and Capital Expenditures. The NEW TransLink financial model is designed and built both as an Excel model and also as a detailed 275 page PDF complete with a clickable Table of Contents to enable the user to quickly navigate and see any of about 75 bookmarked financial reports e.g. the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, Service Plan, several detailed Capital Expenditure reports including Provincial and Federal Funding (1100 Capital Projects to 2036), Interest Rates, Inflation, Operating Information for Bus, Skytrain, West Coast Express, and Seabus, Working Capital, Real Estate, Debt Issue by Date and Term, Marginal Costs, detailed Revenue reports (P95, P50, and P05).
