Barr Gazetas designs and delivers different projects for a variety of clients. We enjoy combining their requirements, with the individual qualities of a site, to create unique projects that are striking to look at and enjoyable to use.We are an award winning architects\' practice and design consultancy, formed in 1993 and specialising in master planning, architecture, and interior design. We specialise in transformation; successfully improving the most compromised buildings or sites, however tight the commercial, urban, or planning constraints. We enjoy working with the challenges and opportunities that each project presents and finding solutions that are responsive, logical and able to stand the test of time.We respond positively to the complexities of client briefs and the contradictions inherent in every project. Our creative solutions consistently result in striking designs.We are design led and pragmatic, ensuring that our designs are translated into reality in a timely and cost-effective manner. This approach is reinforced by our collaboration and communication with all interested parties. The practice is run by its directors Jon Eaglesham, Tom Lacey, Jonathan Allwood and myself.

ABOUT TOM JORDAN
I am Technical Director at award-winning architects Barr Gazetas. The practice is based in London’s West End and has a portfolio of projects spanning mixed-use, workplace, retail, residential, education, public realm and master-planning.For the last decade I have been working on complex commercial and residential redevelopments of existing and new buildings in Central London. I lead office project teams, with clients and collaborate with the consultant design team through all work stages from inception to completion to deliver projects of quality to exceed the expectations of the brief.I am in charge of Barr Gazetas’ quality management systems and technical reviews of all projects in the office as part of our QA procedures. This role affords me a wide ranging remit across the whole office and all of our projects and I greatly enjoy the mentoring role that this provides.I enjoy the problem-solving aspect of my day-to-day role: whether it is a solution to a technical, legal or creative problem, or finding a collective solution to an on-going issue. My strengths include managing project teams both in and out of the office, efficient on-site project management, acquaintance with the Approved Documents, JCT contract expertise and knowledge of construction detailing. Previously while working in Boston, MA and Portland, ME in the USA I gained experience working on a wide range of international projects including civic buildings, museum exhibitions, commercial buildings, laboratories, multi residential, furniture design as well as individual private residential projects. I have also worked in Malta on UNESCO World Heritage sites, and on various challenging sites in Bristol that included Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas. I am a motivated, efficient, experienced team member and leader that prides myself on my attention to detail.
