About Tom Jordan
I’m looking for an IELTS teaching position. I taught IELTS for over ten years in Viet Nam. I’ve also held positions here in the US, as an English Lecturer (ESL) for an academic year at the prestigious University of Washington, Seattle, and with foreign language academies in Las Vegas. I taught for amajor universities in HCMC, including ERC, Kent International, Bach Khoa and Hoa Sen. While in Viet Nam I carved out a niche as the leading provider of ESL for proficiency, finally developing and leading my own successful IELTS-only school, aptly named California School Vietnam. Forming my own IELTS-only school was a rewarding challenge. Word of mouth spreads fast and I was never at a loss for dedicated students. While I used texts, notably the Complete IELTS series, some 50% of my materials are self-developed. I work well independently and in groups. The more responsibility and independence I’m given, the more I succeed and prosper. I hold a BA in History and Chemistry from Marquette University and from Cambridge University, UK, the CELTA in TESOL. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, Phi Alpha Theta.
