ABOUT TOM JARVIS

Ex professional rugby player looking to convert the experience and knowledge gained into the business environment. Currently Head of Operations at Engage Management Services. Previously I was an Area Manager and launched new storage facilities for Engage Management and Magenta Self Storage. Before that my first venture in the self storage industry was as a Branch Manager at a brand new storage site in Minworth for Cookes furniture. Previous to the storage industry I ran all operations for Wilson Covers based in Kinver, Staffordshire.I have been lucky enough to travel the world with rugby and have picked up valuable experience about different cultures as well as some life long friends. I studied sports conditioning and coaching as my degree at Hartpury as part of UWE Bristol and this helped with my leadership skills and to grow in confidence. It was at this time I learnt the value of team work and taking on leadership roles. After my degree I studied a Masters in Business management. One year of my dissertation was spent in Florence Italy. This experience helped me to understand motivating individuals to get the best performance as speaking to groups was not possible. My previous experience allows me to motivate those around me to complete our weekly goals and hit targets. Magenta gave me the opportunity to impose my processes and systems on new facilities and I am now bringing this experience to Engage Management as well as continuing to develop new skills in this role.
