Litigation with a regulatory angle. Clients include regulated entities (financial services firms, accountancy firms etc.) and public bodies. Practice areas include financial services litigation, administrative and public law and contentious competition.Notable cases include- Heathrow Airport Limited & ors v Civil Aviation Authority: Advising the CAA on four appeals under the Civil Aviation Act (akin to judicial review) by Heathrow Airport, British Airways, Virgin and Delta concerning the CAA’s decision on the passenger charges paid by airlines for using Heathrow- R (Donegan) v Financial Services Compensation Scheme Limited : Advising FSCS on the Judicial Review of a decision by the FSCS in relation to whether the issue of mini bonds by London Capital & Finance constituted a regulated activity: see [2021] EWHC 760 (Admin)- Watchstone Group Plc v PwC: Advising PwC in the successful defence of a claim for £63 million by Watchstone Group plc, involving allegations of breach of confidence and unlawful means conspiracy: see [2023] EWHC 1133- Various SAMs Borrowers v Bank of Scotland: Advising the Bank on a significant ongoing litigation brought by over 200 claimants under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 in relation to the alleged mis-selling of a certain type of mortgage (shared appreciation mortgages)- Gutmann v Stagecoach & ors: Advising Stagecoach as co-defendant to collective proceedings concerning alleged abuse of dominance in relation to its ticketing practices- Dye & Durham v CMA: Advising Dye & Durham in quasi-judicial review proceedings arising out of the CMA’s refusal to permit Dye & Durham to divest its stake in a competitor by listing it as an independent company on the London Stock ExchangePreviously seconded to the Takeover Panel and an international investment bank.Described in Legal 50•••21 as \"a very clever associate who clearly is going places\", and in Legal 50•••22 as \"an up and coming associate who is exceptionally bright and industrious\", a \"standout individual\" and a \"great strategic thinker\".
