About Tom Cirillo
A seasoned non-profit leader with a proven track record of goal achievement at highly impactful institutions. Extensive experience in organizational leadership, fundraising, program development and implementation, content creation and event production. After almost 20 years of non-profit experience in the arts and culture sector, I was encouraged seven years ago by my dear college friend and leading diabetes patient-advocate Kelly Close to bring that experience and a lifelong passion for learning and help grow her increasingly important non-profit, The diaTribe Foundation, created to improve the lives of people with diabetes.During my career, I have worn many hats, including stage manager, script writer, and CEO, at organizations ranging in size from $100million. I believe that one plus one, when the partnership is properly identified and stewarded, should always equal more than two. I thrive on honest, authentic communication, identifying common goals, and then getting to work. A second-generation Italian American with dual citizenship, fluent in English, German, and Italian, I am ready to take on my next adventure, wherever that may lead, and do all they can to create positive change and greater understanding for a better world. As Deputy Director of The diaTribe Foundation, I was responsible for the production of our public events, including the diaTribe Musings series of panel discussions, and the highly regarded \"Solvable Problems in Diabetes\" series of all-female panels at international conferences. I also was responsible for strategic organizational communications and the cultivation and enhancement of key partnerships with members of industry, academia and clinical care.
