ABOUT TOLU OLASOJI
An Emmy-winning multiplatform journalist, producer, and project manager, Tolu specializes in leading digital and multimedia productions that bridge storytelling and strategy. His expertise spans geopolitics, business, technology, culture, policy, and social issues, with a focus on exploring their impact on people and communities. He works across all formats of journalism. Currently, Tolu works on the Digital Operations team at GZERO Media, where he project manages editorial and client projects (via Blue Circle Studios, GZERO Media’s branded content shop). He also carries out digital publishing tasks, including editing, audience engagement, and content strategy. Additionally, he manages interactive content and the outfit’s YouTube and podcast platforms. Previously, Tolu served as a Contributing Editor at David Byrne’s solutions-focused platform, Reasons To Be Cheerful, and as a West Africa Contributor at Quartz. At Quartz, he reported on technology, business, and policy in Africa while contributing to its weekly newsletter throughout 2021. He also briefly served as Editor-in-Chief at GOAL Nigeria, leading the newsroom during the record-breaking 2018 FIFA World Cup coverage for DAZN. There, he worked as Deputy Editor between 2017 and 2019 and led the operations of its flagship “African All-Star” section to a daily average of views. Tolu’s work has been featured in prestigious outlets such as The Washington Post, VICE, Mail & Guardian, The Continent, CSIS, and Al Jazeera. His journalism has been recognized with multiple international nominations, including an Emmy win as a co-producer on a news magazine show about addiction in America. In 2019, the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) named him the best color piece writer in Africa and among the top 10 in the world for his investigative story on football trafficking for Al Jazeera. Passionate about media innovation, Tolu is exploring the use of AI and emerging technologies to enhance storytelling, journalism processes, and project management.
