ABOUT TOILY KURBANOV
As the Executive Coordinator of United Nations Volunteers (UNV), Toily Kurbanov provides vision and strategic leadership of UNV as part of UN’s global peace, development and humanitarian efforts. He has 30 years of leadership experience, including over 15 years as a senior executive and change leader at the UN, with expertise in international development, policy analysis and partnerships. Toily positioned UNV as the UN’s systemwide service and built partnerships with agencies, funds and programmes and across the United Nations. Under his leadership UNV has doubled the rate of mobilization of passionate and qualified global citizens who volunteer for the United Nations (from 6,500 in 2017 to in 2023) in more than 160 countries. Toily is passionate about empowering people and communities and fostering a culture of innovation, diversity, and inclusion within UNV and the UN.
