Working under the Community Engagement Department, my responsibilities primarily include advancing the museum\'s community programs, teen access initiatives, and project evaluation efforts. Key support functions include staffing Cultural Celebrations, Open Houses, and Teen events to collect and monitor data metrics, collaborating on a cross-department basis to mentor and train Teen Interns, researching and outreaching to local Boston residents and organizations both for Boston Family Sundays and beyond, and more. In this role, my learning objectives include hands-on experience with community outreach, constituent programming, special events planning, data analysis and tabulation. Additionally, throughout my internship, I also attend weekly Museum Practices & Pathways courses with the rest of my internship cohort.

ABOUT TONY WU
Hello, my name is Tony! I am currently a senior at Boston University majoring in Political and Data Science, with a minor in Public Policy Analysis, on the pre-law track. As someone that is deeply passionate about community organizing, I have over 5 years of experience working in political campaigns, nonprofits, and government institutions. Currently, I am preparing to enter law school in the Fall of 2026 to pursue my J.D. with a focus in public interest law, and specifically on litigation for civil and consumer rights.Born to a family of and raised in a community of Asian American immigrants, my upbringing is one that is rooted in my cultural identity and lived experiences navigating the often unequal mechanisms of institutions and power. With an exposure to politics since high school as a canvasser, I have always been curious and eager to learn more about the role and responsibilities of government in the service of others. In my career, my passion for this has been continuously developed along with my learned abilities of community engagement, constituent relations, data analysis, and campaign management. During my time at Boston University, the courses I\'ve taken have led me to pursue honors research in social welfare, with an emphasis on building equitable systems of support for our nation\'s underserved. Graduating in Spring 2026, I am now actively working on my senior thesis titled \"How to Combat the Growing Wealth Inequality Gap and It\'s Financial and Logistical Implications on Social Wellbeing.\"I seek to redefine traditional boundaries and societal expectations of what people from all backgrounds, especially those that have been historically marginalized, can achieve. Throughout my life, my professional and social experiences have instilled in me a mantra of making the world a better place than how I found it. To that extent, I have been involved in over 15 different campaigns, supported organizing efforts at organizations such as NYC Parks, Sunrise Movement, NYC-DSA, Afghanaid, BU SPARK and more.Looking ahead, I am excited at the prospect of pursuing further work and a career as an attorney and community organizer in the field of consumer rights and civil rights to continue to grow as an advocate for others.
