About Todd Scaminaci
As a lifelong learner with a background in cybersecurity and electrical engineering, I bring over a decade of experience across the automotive and defense industries, leading and delivering innovative system designs that provide extensive value to customers. In my current role as the Electric Vehicle (EV) Cybersecurity Team Lead at Ford Motor Company, I guide a dynamic team of engineers in conducting full lifecycle cybersecurity reviews of cutting-edge electric vehicle connected features, modules, and EV products. My expertise in industry standards (ISO 21434, ISO 15118-2 and -20), cloud security, Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSEs), and general vehicle architecture and design demonstrates my commitment to developing secure, innovative solutions that protect against common threats and attack scenarios.Throughout my career, I have shown a strong dedication to security and system design, seamlessly integrating hardware and software into final products. In previous roles at General Dynamics Mission Systems and Raytheon Missile Systems, I expanded my understanding of embedded security and electrical systems engineering, successfully leading teams through critical project milestones, from early design and requirements generation to final sign-off and security certification. My hands-on experience in hardware/software integration, ASIC/FPGA design, and overall system testing has been invaluable. In these roles, I made it a point to be the hardest worker on any team, consistently ensuring that project objectives were not only met but exceeded.Continuing my education and learning is a priority for me. I am currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Michigan – Ross School of Business, expected in May 2026. This academic pursuit, combined with my master’s degree in cybersecurity from the University of Arizona, bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University, and CISSP certification, enables me to leverage my unique talents and extensive background to solve complex challenges and provide strategic leadership in cybersecurity, engineering, and business contexts. I am excited to connect and explore how my passion for security and systems design can continue to drive innovation and create impactful solutions together.
