   Spearheaded and implemented new innovative strategic vision for The Sopris Sun, a nonprofit community organization and newspaper. Oversee the day to day business operation, generating $650k+ annually through advertising, sponsorships, donations and grants.Launched several new initiatives including new employee benefits, a donor and grant development process, a new standalone Spanish language newspaper Sol del Valle and a new in-house Journalism Studies Program for local area high schools. Spearheaded multiple collaborative efforts with other local newsrooms, nonprofits and local businesses. Directed the implementation and integrations of new business systems and website to increase employee efficiency and improve donor/advertiser communications.Managed the HR for a staff of 5 and over 20 freelance contractors, plus dozens of volunteers.Tripled annual budget by increasing all four revenue streams: donations, memberships, advertising/sponsorships, and grant income.
