About Todd A Kushner
I am an experienced professional with passions for teaching, writing/editing, mentoring, and advocacy. For the last eight years, I have taught graduate classes to U.S. and foreign military officers and civilian U.S. government employees. The classes I taught included leadership and management, intelligence and national security policy, strategic leadership, intelligence resources and budgeting, statecraft, policy analysis, and critical thinking. But I also found it very rewarding to work with students to improve their writing and reasoning skills. As a Foreign Service officer, I built relationships with key domestic and foreign decision-makers, negotiated international agreements, analyzed foreign economies, advocated on behalf of U.S. policies, and drafted focused reports for Washington agencies. While working in the Senate, I prepared legislation. Serving in State\'s legislative affairs office, I advocated before Congress. Leadership and supervision have been significant elements of my career including planning strategically, preparing performance reviews, and making hiring recommendations. My specialty has been increasing office effectiveness by coaching employees in focused, targeted drafting. But I am also devoted to mentoring and saw morale and output dramatically increase as a result of my efforts. Outside the office, I am a dedicated marathon runner.
