   With 30% of Michigan’s land mass and only 3% of its population, the Upper Peninsula is a wilderness of barely-maintained logging roads, jeep trails and singletrack. Gravel, but better. Enhanced.You’re going to see some nice gravel. You’re going to see some burly, rocky, mean gravel too. There’s not a lot of hike-a-bike but enough to leave you with some stories. Sand. River crossings. Rock. Cell service is highly questionable and not to be relied on. Wildlife. The bear love a well-seasoned gravel rider – maybe you should bring pepper spray. You’ll climb Michigan’s highest peak (Mt. Arvon). You will feel alone, and at the same time fully present, as the road ahead requires full attention and mental sharpness.We don’t tell you this to scare you, or to brag. You can do this, but be prepared. Enhanced gravel is meant to crush comfort zones.
