   The BalanceTutor Perturbation Treadmill is the world\'s first Clinical Perturbation Treadmill that safely and accurately enables a clinician/operator to give an unexpected perturbation (Slip/Trip simulation) to a patient in either an In-Stance position or during Ambulation. These perturbations can be given in the Medial/Lateral (M/L) or Anterior/Posterior (A/P) planes.(Yes, the BalanceTutor actually moves up to 11\" Medial/Lateral).With an instrumented forceplate as a treadmill deck, a harness for safety, and a computer driven system, a clinician/operator has the ability to elicit an unexpected event (perturbation) at the desired time and intensity to attain the desired patient response. Whether teaching cross-over stepping to a Stroke patient, step initiation to a Parkinson\'s patient, or re-training the Motor/Sensory Integration for a Concussion patient, the BalanceTutor is an extremely functional and intuitive tool for all types of Balance patients and individuals that would like to improve their balance.
