Building collaborative models and clinical consortiums, bringing together researchers and leaders from academia and industry interested in retinal disease. • Provide senior leadership and strategic guidance to clinical research activities conducted through the Foundation’s Consortium of 40+ inherited retinal disease specialists• Guided significant investment in, and increased impact of the sponsored genetic testing program by securing a successful research partnership with the National Eye Institute, developing a strategic plan for funding the program, diversifying funding sources, and doubling the number of people now able to access genetic testing at no cost • Overseeing a $30M clinical research budget while developing and managing the performance of a 4-member internal team, and a 6-member outsourced team of researchers• Pivotal role in securing $3+M in research funding partnering with nonprofits, large Fortune 100 pharma, and biotech companies • Organize and conduct disease-specific scientific workshops that include the perspectives of affected individuals, researchers, clinicians, and regulatory representatives
