I’ve spent over 40 years in medical technology, focused on a single question:What actually drives meaningful change in patient outcomes?Across that time, I’ve worked as a founder, investor, and operator, building a company that was acquired by Medtronic, working inside Medtronic, and participating in the M&A process with large medical device companies.Those experiences gave me a front-row view into how real value is created in healthcare and how rarely it comes from a single breakthrough.Instead, the biggest shifts happen when technologies, clinical need, and timing converge in a way that changes how care is delivered.I believe neurotechnology is at one of those inflection points now.For years, neurorehabilitation has focused on helping patients move. What’s been missing is directly addressing how the brain relearns.Today, as CEO of Bioness Medical, we are building a next-generation platform that integrates central neuromodulation with functional stimulation, bringing together brain and body in a way that has not been done at scale.This is not an incremental step.It represents a fundamental shift in how neurological recovery can be approached, to benefit those who have suffered a central nervous system disorder.We are still early but the direction is becoming clear.
