About Todd Basile
I help technology companies protect and commercialize their innovations. Whether it’s building a strategic patent portfolio, negotiating complex tech transactions and software licenses, or clearing products for market launch, my focus is always on a holistic approach to creating value and furthering a tech company’s business goals. I also co-lead GT\'s initiatives in the Robotics & Autonomous Technologies space, with a particular passion for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS or \"drones\"). I am an FAA-Certified Part 107 Remote Pilot and prior to becoming an attorney I was an engineer at Bell Helicopter where I designed cutting-edge aerospace technologies and software. I also helped develop electromechanical control systems for military drones at Smiths Aerospace during my undergraduate studies at Georgia Tech, and clerked at St. Jude Medical’s Neuromodulation Division during law school.This combination of technical, legal, and business acumen can be hard to find since most patent attorneys have only really dabbled in tech transactions or disputes. My practice is a true mix of all three buckets thanks to trusted client relationships and several unique opportunities for diverse experience over the course of my career.
