Good usability, rock solid reliability, and performance are at the core of simplification.I\'ve been solving tough problems and breaking new ground since the early days of my career at Avid Technology. Working with a stellar team, we pioneered video editing software for the iPad, and since then I\'ve been a passionate advocate for working with a platforms unique strengths and perceived weaknesses to deliver top notch/no compromise experiences.With extensive experience in software engineering and formal training in graphic design, I have been an advocate and mediator between engineering and product at multiple organizations.Whether it was helping invent a new way to visualize a traditional video timeline for touch screens, or working with my team at SlingTV to figure out how to allow a user to browse their content while watching live television on both touch and 10 foot interfaces, I have always thrived on new kinds of problems.My experience has spanned multiple industries including media creation and consumption, productivity, and finance. With a focus on allowing companies to utilize their existing subject matter expertise, we believe that we can help companies streamline their data entry workflows, and allow ML to increasingly take on much of the load.LeadershipI’ve had the tremendous opportunity to leverage the skills I’ve learned over more than a decade in software development to lead an exceptionally talented team of individuals. I believe that great engineers love what they do, and if they continue to love that they do, they will always give you their best work.Technical ExpertiseLeveraging my experience as a mobile engineer for much of my career, we built a first-of-its-kind mobile experience used for cleaning ML data used for training. This project helped us to drastically increase productivity with only a minimal amount of actual effort building the tool.Learning New ThingsSince joining Zerapix, I have had the opportunity to learn cutting edge technologies in the ML space, and branch out into web development by learning Python and React.It’s also been a new challenge focussing on business software. I’ve spent the majority of my career focused on direct to consumer UX principles. With business software, the focus is on productivity first. The key though, is to still focus on usability, but with and increased focus on productivity. This is a fine balance, and one that is critical to a great experience!
