WORK HISTORY
Chairperson @Manchester Disability Collaborative
Manchester, GB
I chair the Manchester Disability Collaborative, a multi-agency partnership of disabled people, DPOs, VCSE organisations, and public and private sector partners working to improve equality and inclusion for disabled people in Manchester. The Collaborative focuses on coproduction, making sure our annual priorities come directly from disabled people’s lived experiences. I work with the Engagement Group, Forum and Workstreams to amplify disabled voices, strengthen collaboration, and support organisations to remove barriers in their policies, services and workplaces. My role involves shaping priorities, guiding conversations across sectors, and helping Manchester become a city where disabled people can live and work with greater freedom, safety and opportunity.

ABOUT TOBY MILDON
I run an inclusion consultancy that helps senior HR and people leaders create workplaces where everyone feels safe enough to do good work. You get practical support to shift behaviours, reduce risk, and build a culture that performs well because people feel able to show up, speak up and contribute. My approach keeps things simple. You get straight, honest advice, grounded in data, lived experience and over 20 years working in organisations such as the BBC, Deloitte, British Airways, Accenture and Cerner. Clients tell me they value the calm, clear space to think through difficult issues, test ideas and deal with sensitive situations without fear of judgement. I work with leaders who want to make progress but feel stuck. You might be worried about saying the wrong thing. You might be dealing with complex behaviour issues, a lack of alignment at senior level, or pressure to show impact with limited time and budget. I help you move forward in ways that feel doable rather than overwhelming. My inclusion consultancy supports leaders in three ways: 1. One-to-one coaching for senior executives who need a trusted adviser for tough conversations and high-stakes decisions 2. Workshops that build psychological safety, shift behaviours and strengthen leadership alignment 3. Long-term programmes that fix barriers across recruitment, promotion, performance and culture Across all my work, the focus stays the same: make inclusion easier, safer and more practical for the people who need to lead it. Since starting the consultancy, I have supported over 100 organisations across sectors including energy, media, tech, finance and pharma. Thousands of people have taken part in my workshops and transformation programmes. Leaders report higher confidence. Teams report healthier culture. Organisations see better retention, fewer problems escalating and clearer expectations around behaviour. Alongside my consultancy, I chair the Manchester Disability Collaborative, bringing organisations across the city together to remove barriers and amplify disabled voices in policy, design and service delivery. I write and speak about inclusive leadership, organisational design and practical equity. My books, Inclusive Growth and Building Inclusivity, capture the tools, examples and principles I use with clients every day. If you want support that is practical, honest and grounded in lived experience, I’d be happy to talk.
