ABOUT TOBY HURLEY

I am a hands-on product leader, with a track record of delivering industry-changing product through the start-up and scale-up phases. I thrive on challenges that require first principles thinking, creativity, fearlessness and hard work.Since 2021 I have been building product at Halter. We leverage software, hardware, firmware, and machine learning to deliver solutions to cattle farmers that enable them to be both more productive AND more sustainable. We have customers across the United States, Australia and New Zealand, who are with us on the journey to revolutionise one of the most important industries in the world.I joined Halter as we were taking our first product to our earliest customers. Since then, we have made significant upgrades to our product, being the world-leaders in not only virtual fencing but the surrounding ecosystem of land, pasture and animal monitoring (with more to come).The advances we have made in our product have helped drive Halter to be New Zealand\'s fastest growing company between 20••••••••39% growth). That trend has continued - in 2025 we raised a US$100 million Series D at a US$1 billion valuation, further fuelling the ambition to have Halter on every pasture based cattle operation in the world, and continue to solve the most important problems those operators face, every day.
