Toby is the UK head of the Real Estate Finance. He has extensive experience in acting for lenders and sponsors on a broad range of transactions including senior and mezzanine debt, development funding and tax-driven structures. He has a particular expertise in cross border transactions involving most European jurisdictions. Recent transactions include acting for Carlyle on the senior and mezzanine refinancing of their Uncommon brand of flexible office workspaces and acting to Aareal Bank AG on the refinancing of three hotels including the Edinburgh Caledonian for Henderson Park. Other notable matters include acting for Aareal Bank AG in a €1bn facility to Invesco Real Estate covering 27 prime locations across 7 countries in the UK and mainland Europe and acting for ING in financing the £726m acquisition of the Gherkin by the Safra Group. Toby has experience in dealing with most types of property and sectors including healthcare, residential, student accommodation, logistics, hotel and leisure, retail and commercial.
