I am editor of the Gilbert Independent, a hyperlocal publication and part of the Independent Newsmedia organization that publishes the Daily Independent and yourvalley.net. I also serve as editorial adviser to The State Press, ASU\'s independent student news organization, and have been an adjunct faculty instructor in ASU\'s Cronkite School. I formerly worked at Republic Media for 30 years, mostly as an editor filling various roles in Sports and Community news. Raised in Phoenix, I am a graduate of ASU and Brophy College Prep. Additionally, I am a a softball coach and fan, education and community involvement advocate, and a husband and dad.
