ABOUT TOBIN COLES

I help employers, insurers and partners rethink how workplace wellbeing is actually delivered, not just how it is described on paper. For most of my career I’ve worked at the sharp end of employee wellbeing, reward and health distribution. I’ve founded and sold wellbeing businesses, led EAP and mental health providers, worked with brokers and insurers including Aon, and now serve as CRO at Kara Connect. I\'ve described myself as a revenue alchemist, founder, investor, consultant, strategist, marketeer, technologist, business developer and scale-up specialist. That means I’ve seen this system from every angle and, at one point in my own life, as someone who needed help and found the experience badly lacking. That lived experience changed how I think about the whole category. I don’t believe low mood, anxiety or depression should be treated as neat labels and left there. Very often they are signs of something deeper that needs proper support, whether that is trauma, addiction, neurodiversity or another underlying issue. The same is true in the workplace. If the model is built for access control rather than outcomes, people fall through the gaps and employers are left thinking they have support in place when in reality the system is failing them. That is why my work now is focused on helping organisations move beyond outdated EAP thinking and towards better therapeutic pathways, earlier intervention and more honest conversations. I care particularly about addiction in the workplace, neurodiversity support for employees and parents, trauma sitting behind anxiety and depression, and the practical reality of disability and reasonable adjustments in remote work.I try to talk about these issues plainly. Not academically. Not performatively. Just honestly. I believe businesses have a responsibility to create support that actually helps people and I believe we have to be willing to say when the old model is broken. If you’re thinking seriously about how wellbeing should work in 2026 and beyond, let’s connect.
