ABOUT TOBIAS SCHOMERUS
Sustainability Enthusiast | Circular Economy Advocate | ESG & Impact Professional 🪴 I am a passionate sustainablity professional committed to driving sustainable practices and innovations. With a background in Sustainable Management & Technology, specializing in biotechnology, material sciences and circular economy from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), I have a deep understanding of the intersection between technology, sustainability, and business strategy. In my current role, I conduct ESG due diligence and impact assessments for investment targets and existing portfolio companies. I ensure compliance, assess risks, and monitor ESG performance. I am responsible for sustainability and ESG reporting, as well as updating internal policies and regulatory documents for our firm and portfolio companies. I manage diverse workstreams, contributing to the firm’s overall ESG strategy and ensuring regulatory alignment. My Master\'s Thesis,\"Circular Value Creation,\" focused on developing a multi-level Circular Economy Decision-Making Framework. This framework helps manufacturing companies integrate circular strategies across the product lifecycle, enhancing sustainability and driving value creation across supply chains.🧑 I am trained in Life Cycle Sustainability Assessments (LCSA), ESG reporting, corporate sustainability strategies, and circularity frameworks. I’ve had the opportunity to conduct field research in Ghana, focusing on circular e-waste management—an experience that deepened my understanding of sustainable practices in emerging markets. Beyond academia, I’ve been actively involved in setting up the DeepTech & Climate Fund (DTCF), drafting sustainability strategies for consulting firms, and working with top professionals in the circular economy field and academia. Outside of my professional life, I am an amateur triathlete, a coffee enthusiast, and an outdoor freak, always seeking new ways to challenge myself and connect with nature.
