ABOUT TOBIAS NECKER
I am a passionate physicist and data scientist with over 10 years of experience in data assimilation and numerical weather prediction. I work at ECMWF, a world-leading research institute and operational weather centre. My role aims to improve the usage of visible satellite observations in numerical weather prediction. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to collaborate closely with the RIKEN Center for Computational Science in Japan as well as with several weather services (Deutscher Wetterdienst, MeteoSwiss, and GeoSphere Austria). Since 2020, I have been organizing the International Symposium on Data Assimilation Online (ISDA-Online) seminar series.
