When it comes to shaping the future of our societies and economies, digital transformation is a defining force.As Head of the Edge Business Unit at Portainer.io, I drive the development of scalable industrial solutions for OT and AI applications, working closely with strategic partners to help shape the next stage in this ongoing transformation. My primary focus is on the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), connecting manufacturing, logistics and related industries across the entire value chain.But why does this matter?The true impact of IIoT is often underestimated, especially within enterprises. Yet its relevance is undeniable. And that’s exactly what I aim to highlight. IIoT has the power to enhance the competitiveness of entire economies. Leading research institutes have long identified digital resilience as a key capability of modern industrial nations. The COVID-19 pandemic (a true black-swan event) showed that countries with stronger, more connected production systems were better equipped to handle disruptions. IIoT plays a crucial role in enabling that resilience.What do I bring to the table?With a solid background in the automotive industry, I’ve led multiple projects since 2014 focused on AI-driven maintenance, shop-floor connectivity and data asset management.
