ABOUT TOBIAS HARRIS
Tobias Harris, is a Professional Basketball player for the Detroit Pistons. Originally from New York, he was a finalist for the Naismith High School Player of the Year Award as a senior at Half Hollow Hills West High School, who he led to the New York Class AA state title game AA state title game as a senior. Named New York’s Mr. Basketball, All-USA by USA Today and a McDonald’s All-American.After playing one season at the University of Tennessee, he entered the 2011 NBA Draft and was selected by the then Charlotte Bobcats with the #19 overall pick.He has played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Clippers, and Philadelphia 76ers.Recognized for his tremendous “off the court” efforts, he has earned numerous awards and honors including the NBA Cares Community Assist Award, the Rich and Helen DeVos Community Enrichment Award, and was named a finalist for the 2014-15 J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award.Additionally, he has hosted a School of Business Basketball Camp in Long Island, NY, where he works to teach young athletes a combination of basketball and life skills.
