Understanding the role of Astrocytes in Neuronal synchrony using methods such as cloning, PCR, imaging and more.Led cloning project involving designing primers for dominant negative Vamp2 also known as Synaptobrevin (part of the SNARE complex) and iGluSnFR with the purpose of grasping the relevance of transmitter “Glutamate” in neuronal firing. The synchronous firing is believed to be a conjunction of the release of Calcium and Glutamate in the tripartite synapse between neurons and astrocytes.
