ABOUT TIGON NGUYEN

I am an Information Security Specialist at Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), where I plan and manage the implementation and integration of new technologies to safeguard infrastructure assets. I am currently pursuing a B.A.S in Cybersecurity Technologies from University of Maryland Global Campus, and I hold a CompTIA Security+ and currently working towards my CompTIA Network+ and A+. My core competencies include risk assessment, security controls, incident response, and system administration. In my current role, I conduct comprehensive risk assessments of industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT) systems to identify potential vulnerabilities and security gaps. I also design, develop, and implement security controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate threats and ensure compliance with standards and regulations. I also monitor and analyze network traffic, system logs, and security events to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner. I collaborate with cross-functional teams/agencies to integrate security solutions into ICS/OT environments without disrupting operational efficiency. I am passionate about protecting Federal infrastructure from cyberattacks and enhancing the security posture of WHS. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as I have worked in different sectors and roles, such as Network Deployment Technician at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and System Administrator at Digital Guardsmen LLC. I am always eager to learn new skills and technologies, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and best practices with others.
