As a Gilman Alumni Ambassador, it was my duty to interpret DoS procedures, policies and guides of the Benjamin Gilman International Scholarship and other international education programs in order to properly present them to individuals from diverse and underserved student groups who were Pell Grant qualified. My role was to assist students in solving complex problems concerning program qualification, the application process, drafting essays and statements of purpose and research country conditions for safe travel. In addition, collaborated with the DoS Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and Institute of International Education (IIE) staff by hosting and providing administrative support for Gilman Scholar Workshops (Milwaukee 2018) and visitation appointments with local universities.
