About Tereza Koudelkova

When I was in the seventh grade, I stumbled upon a little booklet in my school library that described various high school study abroad programs. I can\'t quite pinpoint whether it was the colorful images or the captivating text that immediately intrigued me - but I decided then and there that one day, I would also venture out into the world on such a program. Fast forward a few years, I was seventeen and had just stepped off the plane in Mexico City ready for the adventure of a lifetime. Speaking virtually no Spanish, hoping the years of French and Latin would help me to get by, I was wide-eyed and excited about what was ahead of me. By the end of that year, I caught the \"explorer bug\" and knew this would not be an adventure of a lifetime, but rather the first step towards a lifetime of adventures. Since that first trip, I have volunteered in France, studied in Czechia, Switzerland and the US, and worked in Austria, Australia, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Slovakia, and the US (NYC, BOS).I am currently based in Boston, MA where I work as a Senior Director of B2B Branded Channels, leading team of fourteen globally distributed individuals (EMEA, APAC), accountable for governance, expansion, retail excellence and training for B2B Branded Channels (LEGO Certified Stores, LEGO Travel Stores, and LEGO stores within LEGOLAND Parks and LEGO Discovery Centers, over 850 stores in 50+ countries. I enjoy the global scale and the diversity of the role, as well as leading and developing a group of highly engaged individuals passionate about enabling sustainable growth of the B2B Branded Channel.Outside of work, I swim, bike, and run. A couple of years ago, when half-marathons stopped being scary enough to get me out of bed and out of the door on a cold, rainy morning, I challenged myself to a middle-distance triathlon. I quickly grew to love the sport for its \"simple complexity\"- to succeed, one needs to consistently (plan for and) execute day in, and day out across multiple disciplines for extended periods, sun or rain. I get to spend a great deal of quality time alone, mostly outdoors, which offers ample space for reflection. I also enjoy spending time in the endurance community, especially the Purple Patch crew. I have found it to be incredibly welcoming (comes in handy when you move a lot) and supportive - but also always challenging me to push myself just a little bit more, to become better than I thought I could. One Ironman down (and many half ones), another one to come at the end of 2025.
